Why do NRG Dog Food complete diets not require additional supplementation?

Since our own diets of processed and fast foods require additional supplements either incorporated in them or taken independently, our logic tells us that the same rules apply to the foods we feed to our pets.  Despite our increased knowledge of nutrition and what is appropriate to feed our pets, and ourselves, inadequate or inappropriate nutrition is a major cause of serious health problems in our children, our pets and us.

Problems such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, food allergies, heart disease and cancer are in the headlines of our media on a daily basis.  The evils of trans fats, fat, refined sugars, synthetic antioxidants, and dietary carcinogens and the benefits of minerals, vitamins antioxidants, nutraceutical and probiotics are buzzwords that are heard but poorly understood.

Commercial pet foods are a relatively new concept in the history of man's association with dogs and cats.  The role these animals play in society has changed from working and predator animals, whose diet consisted of table scraps and prey to that of companion animals whose diets are controlled by their owners.
